The Centrify API provides a set of functions specifically to create and directly manage accounts in Cloud Directory. For details on how to create and update accounts in Cloud Directory, see Create and Manage Cloud Directory Users

The API provides another set of functions that are generic to all users, that is, you can apply these functions to Centrify Cloud Directory users, Active Directory users who are connected to the cloud service, and federated users. These functions allow you to perform actions, such as reading information, inviting users to the portal, and setting authentication parameters, for all users, both Cloud Directory, and externally authenticated users. Note that for external accounts, you cannot manage account details for external users in Identity Platform but must do so in the repository to which they belong.
